Local author Rita Hanner Ward, who writes romantic suspense under the pen name Kiva Wolfe, has been named the winner of the International Impact Book Award for Romance – Multicultural and Interracial. The honor recognizes her latest novel, “Tears of Iemanjá,” a romantic suspense adventure set in the high-stakes world of the international gem trade.
Hanner Ward lives in Sun City West, where she writes and participates in a local writing group that meets at the R.H. Johnson Library on the second Thursday of each month. Both books in her Gem Provenance Legacy series — “Red Flash” and “Tears of Iemanjá” — are available through major online retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Google Play.
