Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley is welcoming non-members to participate in its High Holy Days services in September.
Rosh Hashanah starts Friday, Sept. 11, and commemorates the creation of the world. It marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates on Monday, Sept. 21, in the Yom Kippur holiday, also known as the Day of Atonement.
The High Holy Days services will be conducted by Rabbi Dana Evan Kaplan and Cantor Baruch Koritan at Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley, 12202 N. 101st Ave.

Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley is welcoming non-members to participate in its High Holy Days services in September.
Rosh Hashanah starts Friday, Sept. 11, and commemorates the creation of the world. It marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a 10-day period of introspection and repentance that culminates on Monday, Sept. 21, in the Yom Kippur holiday, also known as the Day of Atonement.
The High Holy Days services will be conducted by Rabbi Dana Evan Kaplan and Cantor Baruch Koritan at Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley, 12202 N. 101st Ave.
“Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur remind us that change is possible,” Kaplan said. “We cannot rewrite yesterday, but we can choose how we will live tomorrow. The High Holy Days challenge us to become more compassionate, more honest and more fully human.”
The Temple Beth Shalom Sisterhood is hosting a Break the Fast meal 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, following Yom Kippur services. Call the Temple office at 623-977-3240 to make reservations by Monday, Sept. 14. The cost is $25 per person with no charge for children 12 and younger.
The cost to attend all services is $250 per person, and tickets are required for all events. Tickets will not be sold at the door and partial tickets are not available. Reservations can be made by contacting the Temple office at 623-977-3240 or templebethshalomaz@gmail.com from 9:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
