Members of the Sun City West Sportsman’s Club are participating in a variety of activities, including swimming, ATV/UTV trips and Easy Rider trips.
The Easy Riders had 15 members on their ride to Margie’s Peak and Robbin’s Butte near Buckeye. The ATV-UTV group has had several rides so far. The first was from Bumblebee to Crown King. The second was from the Gate’s Staging Area to Anderson’s Mill. The Master Swimmers meet three times a week either to prepare for competitions or just for recreational swimming. The goal is always self-improvement.
This club also offers Sun City West men and women a multitude of other outdoor Arizona activities. These include, Big Wheels (off road vehicles), birding, fishing, GEOcaching, horseback riding, clay target shooting, hiking and darts (new activity).
The next general meeting is Monday, Dec. 20 at the R.H. Johnson center social hall. Sign in at 12:30 p.m. and meet with the club’s activity leaders. The business meeting starts at 1 p.m. and the guest speaker, Edson Allen, a historian at the Sun Cities Museum speaking on “William Beardsley and the Canals of Arizona,” will start about 1:15 p.m.
