Special panel setting election plans

Recreation Centers of Sun City West officials are turning up the volume for its upcoming board election.

LiAnn Hathaway, Recreation Centers of Sun City West Special Election Committee member, reported informational packets are available to owner member who want to run for the governing board. The nine-member board members serve three-year terms, making three seats available every year.

Dave Wood, committee chairman, said an email is being sent to all members to encourage them to register to vote. It is important to note, he said, that each person in a household must have a separate email address in order to vote online.

Mr. Wood said there seems to be an increasing interest to voting online, which decreases the number of volunteers needed on election day.

All candidates must turn in their petition packets no later than 3 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6.

The committee is setting up two events where residents can meet the candidates.

The governing board election polling place will be open Monday, March 30.
