PORA committee focuses on speed enforcement

Roads, traffic and safety discussed

Excessive speed on R.H. Johnson Boulevard is a roadway of concern in Sun City West.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Zane Hagen spoke to those in attendance at the Dec. 16 Roads, Traffic and Safety Committee meeting at PORA, 13815 W. Camino Del Sol, on the topic of speed enforcement. It was agreed there was a need to look further into traffic trends and the results of the speed signs that were up in the community for a few weeks.

“Then enforcement can be directed to particular areas where it is needed,” he explained. “Based off of all the data we are collecting we are trying to figure out exactly what spots we need to direct our traffic deputy to and inform the rest of our patrol where they can be.”
