Nicholson: ADHS should include out of area workers

Posted

Hello Sun City West neighbor, how many Sun City West store employees, delivery people, cut-through visitors and shoppers, landscapers, home remodeler people, AC repair people, car repair people, electricians, plumbers, painters, carpet people, tile people, funeral home people, restaurant people, dentists, doctors, USPS people, FedEx people, UPS people, and Sun City West resident”s, etc., use a driver license and insurance card that is not 85375?

If these people catch COVID, Arizona Department of Health Services does not show them as an 85375 statistic. The ADHS 85375 statistic is an under-count. The COVID situation in 85375 is worse than it shows on ADHS 85375.

The latest 7-day average is back up to five new 85375 cases per day. How many are vaccinated? A few of those people wear masks. Some of those people may be asymptomatic carriers. I don’t know about other Recreation Centers of Sun City West places, but very few people in the library/racquetball wear a mask.

The governors of Florida, Texas and Arizona (plus others) obviously care more about politics than health.

The RCSCW management could issue a statement that might read, “Legally, our RCSCW hands are tied. We must obey the orders of the governor. However, we think it is extremely important that each resident seriously consider consulting with their doctor about the community benefits of getting vaccinated, wearing a mask properly, washing hands often and trying to maintain social distance.”

The RCSCW management could display this on all doors of all RCSCW facilities.

Unless someone has been in a coma for years, they should be aware of the worldwide deadly delta variant surge that is filling up intensive care units, killing people, and causing lonf COVID misery.

I have been vaccinated. I wear a mask in the library, racquetball and in stores. I do not want to become an asymptomatic carrier and infect my wife or her frail 90-year-old mother. I do not want to catch long COVID.

How many residents think that this COVID surge is just another surge of the original COVID? The delta variant is serious stuff. The delta variant does not care about your politics. Yesterday (Aug. 16), Arizona had 3,418 new cases. As of yesterday, the 7-day average of new cases in Arizona is up to 2,714 per day (highest since Feb 11). As of today, I am taking a delta pause (no library, no racquetball). Will you do your part to help your community?

Think about it.
