Nahass: Why are more homes being built in area

Posted

In the Aug. 4 edition of the Sun City West Independent there was a picture of 500 homes being built in Peoria, just a portion of the 2,600 planned.

This follows the recent opening in Vistancia , plus a number of other areas under consideration. Why? Arizona has been in a drought for several years and it isn’t going away soon. Our reservoirs are at an all time low. Where is the water coming from to support all this new construction as well as for those of us living here already.

Who all gave approval for this? Are they thinking straight? There was some speculation not long ago when we were without rain, about the possibility of putting future protocols in place for the rationing of water. One city in California is completely out of water now and they are trucking it in. Do the city planners realize we live in a desert climate?
