Menke adds program to services in Sun City

Help settling non-legal estate issues

Posted

Menke Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 12420 N. 103rd Ave., Sun City officials are now helping families with the complex process of settling the non-legal estate issues for families as part of their regular service.

The funeral home staff realized that families were struggling with estate matters. It takes a family 2-18 months to tie up loose ends after someone’s death: including notifying retirements, closing bank accounts, changing car titles or even getting their name off pesky mailing lists. This service cuts that time down to 2-3 hours and saves the family money by utilizing information gathered by Full-Circle Aftercare and the knowledge of a trained estate specialist assigned specifically to each family.

Traditionally, most funeral homes have not addressed estate matters with families. But, in the face of an ever more digital world, it has become more apparent than ever how guidance from a real-life expert fulfills both the physical and emotional needs of families as they deal with the things that have to be taken care of in the weeks following a funeral.

“You are going through one of the worst times of your life, it is my job to make this portion as easy as possible for you,” said Kelly Browder, Menke general manager.

So far, as the program is being implemented, the reports are full of first-hand comments from families about how the service helped with the little things as well as the more complicated issues. Having help navigating estate matters while the family is dealing with complicated grief is a way the funeral home can help lift the weight from the shoulders of the family and offer peace of mind.

George Menke purchased in 1977 the old United States Post Office building in Sun City and opened Menke Funeral Home. There have been many changes over the past 40 years, including multiple renovation projects to create a more comfortable space for families. Through the staff has evolved, Menke continues to provide counsel and support to the staff and families. The one thing that has never changed is the dedication to helping families at one of the worst times of their lives with trust, integrity and compassion.

Full-Circle Aftercare bridges the gap by walking families through closing an estate and offering a way for a funeral home to differentiate itself from its competitors by offering a service unrivaled in the funeral industry nationwide.
