A Sun City resident was honored by her employer for excellence in job performance.

Laura Medlock was presented the annual Supervisory Excellence Award for 2020 by Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health officials. Ms. Medlock works in the Devereux office at 11024 N. 28th Drive, Phoenix.

The annual award recognizes supervisors who demonstrate a commitment to Devereux’s core values, instill pride and foster personal and professional growth and development. Nominated by employees across the organization, honorees demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s mission and Servant Leadership principles through the behaviors and actions, including consistently treat others with respect; listen to others’ opinions/recommendations; create an adaptive and supportive environment; offer sincere praise and recognition; provide fair and timely performance feedback, both positive and constructive; actively engage in, and encourage, personal and professional growth; lead by example in all actions; communicate effectively by listening and sharing important information; and hold himself/herself, and others, accountable for meeting Devereux’s standards of excellence.

Ms. Medlock is a clinical coordinator in Devereux Arizona’s outpatient services program. In citing her for the award, Devereux officials said Ms. Medlock leads her team with compassionate collaboration and puts the needs of others first. She is supportive of her team and promotes professional development. Ms. Medlock also applauds the efforts of others and provides insight to help them achieve their goals. Her team stated that she has a way of helping others feel respected, valued, appreciated and understood. She encourages and promotes self-care for all.
