Linda "Yvonne" Kohli

Posted
It is with great sorrow that the Kohli family announces the passing of our mother, grandmother, and friend, Linda “Yvonne” Kohli. After a precipitous decline in health due to cancer and pneumonia, she passed away in the early morning hours of February 16, 2024. Yvonne is preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 54 years Jerry Kohli, her parents Logana and Robert Toney, her brother Bob, and other cherished family. Yvonne was born in Ameagle, West Virginia. After losing her father to a coal-mining accident at an early age, her older siblings cared for her while their mom put herself through nursing school to provide for everyone. She met Jerry in the vibrant arts community surrounding The Ohio State University, where she loved to dance and perform in plays. From the moment they met, they were inseparable, marrying only three months later. Together, they accepted Jesus as their Savior, and led Bible studies and volunteered for faith-based organizations. They raised their two boys, living in multiple states, always accompanied by their adored cats and dogs. The family never missed an opportunity to embrace a variety of outdoor adventures. Ever generous and compassionate, she always made loved ones her famous buckeyes for the holidays, and neighborhood kids always knew that Mom Kohli would fill their bellies and check in on their lives. After her boys were grown, Yvonne and Jerry traveled the world, often with her gregarious extended family. They retired to Sun City West, Arizona, where they lived close to their grandchildren, and were prolific potters. She will be missed dearly by her two sons Alex (Kristen) and Ben (Bekah) Kohli, her two grandchildren Maya and Ian, her surviving sister Louise and brother Jack, her niece and dearest friend Sue, Kristen’s parents and unwavering friends Nicki and Terry Miller, and other loved extended family and friends.
