Lee: Resident gives check to Helping Hands

Posted

Today, my husband, Gerry Connor, and I unexpectedly received a $625 direct deposit “stimulus check” from Uncle Sam (the IRS).

I had calculated that we weren’t eligible.

Because we didn’t particularly need it, we decided to donate it to Helping Hands, the Sun City West Foundation. Reason: They helped us when we really needed them when Charles busted up his knee and had to wait months for surgery.

Gerry and I would challenge every one of our fellow Sun City Westers to do something similar with your government stimulus check as long as it makes less difference in your life than it would to those whom the Foundations helps.

Charles A. Lee
