Arizona Fire & Medical Authority crews responded to a reported working fire Aug. 21 in the 13500 block of W. Wagon Wheel Drive.

According to Eric Kriwer, AFMA deputy chief, personnel found a kitchen fire with extensions into the attic on arrival.

“Crews quickly extinguished the fire and contained it to the kitchen and attic space directly above the kitchen,” he said.

There were no injuries, and the fire is under investigation. Surprise and Peoria fire departments assisted AFMA crews.
