Sunday, March 5th, 2023 James A. Moore (“Jim”) loving husband and father of two adult children passed away at the age of 75. Jim was born on December 30, 1947 in Galesburg, Illinois to Arthur and Rosalee (Watkins) Moore. Jim graduated from Galesburg Senior High School in 1965. He served in the Army, was wounded in Vietnam and awarded the Purple Heart Medal. On February 24, 1973 he married Carolee Diane Swanson. He received his bachelor’s degree with Honors in May 1978 from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois. They raised two children, Bradley Thomas Moore and Amy Michelle (Moore) Nawrocki. After working at Caterpillar for 31 years, Jim retired and Carolee and Jim moved to Sun City West, AZ. Jim is preceded in death by his grandson Joshua James Nawrocki. He is survived by his wife, Carolee, his son Bradley (Erin) in Bella Vista, AR, his daughter Amy (Jay) in Chicago, IL, granddaughter Abby (Adam), 4 great grandchildren Lyric, Gibson, Harper and Ivy, in Mt. Juliet, TN and his sister Janet Carr, in Menasha, WI, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jim loved sports, fishing and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on March 17th at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel (13738 W Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ 85375) followed by a Service at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Cleo Roberts Memory and Movement Disorders Center, 10515 W Santa Fe Drive, Bldg B, Sun City AZ 85351 OR The American Legion, Mary Ellen Piotrowski Post 94, Department of Arizona, P.O. Box 5447, Sun City West, AZ 85376-5447 would be appreciated.
