Gilbert mayoral candidate defends challenge to opponent's petitions

Gilbert mayoral candidate Shane Krauser defended his campaign’s challenge of opponent Natalie DiBernardo’s campaign signatures as a legitimate safeguard of the electoral system.

In a statement posted on social media Tuesday, Krauser said his campaign reviewed the signatures of both his opponents, DiBernardo and Vice Mayor Scott Anderson, and then asked the “appropriate authorities” to review DiBernardo’s eligibility.

“It was, indeed, established that she qualified, and I honor that decision,” Krauser wrote. “End of story!”
