A drop in crude oil prices and optimism that the Strait of Hormuz will resume normal operations brought gas prices down in the Valley, as prices fell 7 cents over the past week to settle at $4.42 a gallon, AAA Arizona said in a release Thursday.
“Arizonans are still paying about $1.19 more per gallon than they were at this point in 2025,” said Aldo Vazquez, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group. “But, gas prices typically start going down this time of year as demand decreases and people settle into their fall routines.”
Residents in Sun City West do not have to travel far for the cheapest gas. Fry's, 19403 N. R. H. Johnson Blvd., has gas available for $4. 47 per gallon. Chevron, 15059 W. R.H. Johnson Blvd., has gas for two cents more at $4.49 a gallon.
