Foote: Past time for residents to do their part

Posted

In response to the articles and letters on panhandlers in Sun City, this has been a growing issue for several years.

It is past time for all of us to do our part to help keep Sun City the retirement community it was meant to be — a clean, safe and beautiful area for us to call home.

Seeing more and more homeless panhandlers on our corners is proof we are doing something wrong. Stop directly handing them money. As a charitable community it would be much more beneficial to support organizations that can offer useful help to our homeless population.

We are the “City of Volunteers,” let’s support our community and help alleviate this ongoing problem!
