Elliott: TV ads show someone is worried

Posted

I am curious to know why support advertisements for senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly are being shown frequently on popular television shows, like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and others.

Someone or some political action committee is spending a lot of money in support of these Democrat candidates. Is it because someone is concerned that these two senators, especially Mark Kelly, are vulnerable in the next election? I can understand that for Mark Kelly, for whom I hold great respect, but who has done very little as a senator.

As for Kirsten Sinema, who is early in her Senate seat, she is very visible, and is impressive in her role as the senior senator from Arizona, and surely is not vulnerable for defeat. On the other hand, Mark Kelly, whose term is up in a few months, is vulnerable. Indications are that someone or some PAC is concerned for Senator Kelly, to be spending great amounts of money for television ads on popular TV shows this early in the political race.

As I wrote above, I have great respect for Mark Kelly as a former military pilot and astronaut, but that background and training may not be the best for a senator who needs to have a broad view of Arizona and our nation, especially experience in business ownership and governing. Furthermore, Senator Kelly, in my opinion, should support his fellow Senator Sinema in objecting to the $1.9 trillion or is it $4.5 trillion “Build Back Better” proposal being pushed by  President Joe Biden and the Democrats.

Furthermore, neither of our Arizona senators and many of our Arizona congresspersons are pushing hard enough against the disaster at our southern border. It is an unbelievable, dangerous and shameful situation. If this invasion of illegals continues, the USA will soon resemble the countries from which these illegals are fleeing. And then the USA will not be able to help anyone.
