The Estrella Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will honor March 29 veterans of the Vietnam War who served during the period of Nov. 1, 1955 to May 15, 1975, as well as surviving spouses of veterans and spouses of veterans either missing or unaccounted for.
One individual honored is Estrella’s own Carolyn Meade, who served during the war as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant.
All veterans of all wars whose spouses are members of DAR will be honored with a certificate and a lapel pin in formal presentations in October. The Estrella Chapter will also salute all veterans including those who served in World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, the two Gulf Wars, Afghanistan and other zones of conflict where American forces were deployed.
