Throughout the year, members of Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More have endless opportunities to learn a wide variety of artistic techniques with which to decorate their greeting cards.
Member Christina Hecht recently taught a class where different colors of ink were brushed and blended on cardstock through stencil shapes to create beautiful backgrounds. Depending on the colors of ink chosen to be blended and how the inks are applied through the stencil, one can recreate stunning sunrises, sunsets, marbleized effects and seasonal landscapes.
When the blended ink shape is complete, bold stamps inked in black and stamped over the colorful background result in bold, beautiful greeting cards. With the basic technique learned, participants proceeded to add their own touches to their cards using various paper crafting tools available in the club room.
Learn how to make greeting cards, papercrafts or scrapbooks (traditional or digital) by joining SPAM in Beardsley Center’s Agave Room on Wednesdays (4-9 p.m.), Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).
