American Lutheran Church calls new senior pastor

American Lutheran Church of Sun City, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd., welcomes Rev. Scott A. Klimke as their new senior pastor effective immediately. Pastor Klimke has been a Rostered Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America for two decades and comes to the Grand Canyon Synod from the Allegheny Synod in Pennsylvania where he served Mount Calvary Lutheran in Johnstown, St. Luke Lutheran in Centre Hall and Faith Lutheran in New Florence.

Klimke holds a B.A. degree in history from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee and a M.Div. in pastoral leadership from Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA. He is a second career pastor who is an Army veteran of Desert Storm and later followed as a civilian working as an Operations Director and COO. Pastor Klimke met his wife of twenty years, the Rev. Julia Sprenkle, in seminary. Pastor Sprenkle is a Rostered Minister in the ELCA as well.
