About 70 people attended a more than two-hour long Valentine’s Day concert Feb. 14, as part of the Concert on Cameo series.
Performing for the crowd were Ken Frerichs, John Barnes, Sharon Word, Bill Burkett, Harry (Harryzona) Sitsema, Rebecca Goodrich, Dale Elliott and the host, Eric Laubach.
The piano was used throughout and Bill Burkett supplemented with mandolin. He soared with his Balalika imitation on “Dr Zhivago’s Theme.” HarryZona and Rebecca gave recitations of some poetry. Eric Laubach finished the concert with four songs, ending with “‘Til the Real Thing Comes Along.”
Money raised from the tip jar will go to the Salvation Army’s local food bank.
The next concert will honor St Patrick’s Day 4 p.m. March 14 along North Cameo Drive, east of 99th Avenue.
