Sun City’s Quilters on Grand slate open house

Quilters on Grand, under the leadership of President Lynn Mysel, is hosting an open house 4-6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 21, at 10411 W. Grand Ave. There will be a tour of the facility and the opportunity to see members demonstrate different skills.

The club was formed in 2023 by merging Creative Quilters from Lakeview and Friendship Quilters from Bell. This Grand facility is now home to the largest quilt club in the area, boasting multiple pressing and cutting tables, long tables equipped with electrical outlets and the option to bring a sewing machine or utilize one of the club’s machines. They also have a long arm quilting machine to complete their big projects.

Additionally, members have access to a library stocked with quilting books, patterns and a design wall for auditioning quilt blocks before stitching them together.

The club is open to Sun City residents holding an active RCSC card, at an annual membership fee of $20. Basic classes are offered for beginners, and for more experienced quilters, advanced classes are also available.
