The North Golf Course, which had been closed for renovations since April, has officially reopened.
Earlier this year, the Recreation Centers of Sun City approved a $2.7 million budget for the project. The renovation included raising the bunkers, adding desert landscape and removing grass to comply with the Arizona Department of Water Resources new requirements on the amount of water that can be used.
“We’re trying to do our due diligence and reducing our usage by pulling out turf,” Director of Golf Eddy Renio said. “We also put in some drought tolerant hybrid Bermuda called TifTuf.”
