Sun City Zumba Club slates open house

Posted

The Zumba Club of Sun City is hosting its second annual open house 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday, March 1, in the Bell Social Hall, 16820 N. 99th Ave.

Zumba officials are planning for a good crowd with this free event.

“Last year we had 193 people attend,” said club president Jan Taylor. “Everyone enjoyed finding out about Zumba. Many were eager to join the Zumba club that same day.”

The open house will feature six free mini classes for Zumba members and future Zumba members.

“The mini classes will showcase the three different types of Zumba classes,” Taylor said.

Chair Zumba is for people who want to exercise but may have a hard time standing, while it offers core muscle and balance strengthening. Zumba Gold offers a more medium paced exercising class while members are standing. Zumba Fitness takes a more aerobic higher impact approach in movement. Taylor pointed out that the key object is for people to do some sort of movement to keep them healthy.

“We have eight different Zumba classes offered each week at different times and places around Sun City for the convenience of our Sun City residents and their guests,” Taylor said.

The open house will offer free water and five prize drawings throughout the event. Sun City residents should be prepared to show their RCSC picture ID card to attend the event.

“Our goal is to show you that there is a Zumba class for you. Come join us on this fun filled day!” said Taylor.
