Quilters on Grand, under the leadership of President Lynn Mysel, is gearing up for a year of various activities and opportunities for members to learn grow, and connect with fellow quilting enthusiasts.

The club kicked off the year with its inaugural quilt show March 2 and 3 at the Fairway Recreation Center, with an array of quilted creations including wall hangings and small, medium and large-size quilts. Upon arrival, guests were provided with a map to explore the diverse displays and were invited to cast their votes for standout pieces.

The club was created in 2023 by merging Creative Quilters from Lakeview and Friendship Quilters from Bell. Located at 10411 W Grand Ave., in the Grand Center, this spacious facility is now home to the largest quilt club in the area, boasting multiple pressing and cutting tables, long tables equipped with electrical outlets and the option to bring a sewing machine or utilize one of the club’s machines. Additionally, members have access to a library stocked with quilting books, patterns and a design wall for auditioning quilt blocks before stitching them together.

The club is open to all Sun City residents holding an active RCSC card at an annual membership fee of $10. Basic classes are offered for beginners while more experienced quilters can take advanced classes to help them refine their skills and expand their quilting repertoire.

The club’s hours are 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday.
