The Sun City Posse recently unveiled its veterans honor wall to recognize members, past and current, who have served in the military.
The wall was Posse Cmdr. Arlene Kluizenaar’s idea. She said she came up with it because there are many veterans who have been part of the Posse since its inception in 1973. The Posse gives ribbons to veterans in the group, but it doesn’t signify which branch they were part of.
“I wanted something more because that uniform ribbon, well, after they leave us or God forbid they pass away, that ribbon goes with them and we have nothing here at headquarters to remember them, to memorialize the fact that they were a United States military veteran,” she said.
