“The Day They Kidnapped Blanche,” a one-act comedy by Ann Barham Pugh and Katy Dacus, is directed by Phyllis Ambrose. Blanche, a lively community theater actress, is drafted by the FBI to break up a ring of thieves that separates seniors from their savings. With help from two retirement home residents, Blanche foils the villains and saves the day.
The cast includes Blanche, a smart, fun loving 70-year-old retired English teacher turned amateur actress; Sol Fenkelstein, a sarcastic 75-year-old, wheelchair-bound retirement home resident; Mrs. Sloan, a snobbish 70-year-old retirement home resident; Devon, a sharp middle-aged FBI agent (male or female); Billy, a dim-witted aide employed by the retirement home (male or female); Ruby, a crafty 50-year-old retirement home social director); and Brent, a 50-year-old theater director.
Rehearsals are 1:30-4 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, April 3-May 15.
