Sun City doc helps Surprise man find second chance at life

Two-year journey ends with triple transplant

Tony Miranda was not in good health two years ago.

The Surprise resident was in a visit with Sun City cardiologist Dr. Michael Amponsah when the doctor told him he should consider a heart transplant during an episode that sent him to Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West.

That was the beginning of a health care journey that would see Miranda not only have his heart replaced but also his liver and kidney.
