Sun City crafters donate to Comfort Cases

Posted

The Kris Krafters, a group of crafters from Willowbrook United Methodist Church that has been creating and donating items for charities for over forty years, recently sent a donation of quilts and other handmade items to Comfort Cases, an organization operating throughout the United States and headquartered in Maryland.

Its mission is to supply personal items to every child entering foster care. Each child, from infant to high school teens, is given a backpack containing a quilt or other blanket, pajamas, a book, personal hygiene items, etc.

Kris Krafters sent 17 quilts, 12 fleece blankets, two crocheted baby blankets, nine stuffed animals and four dolls, all made by members of the group. Their donation included five books purchased for the children.

The group meets 9-11 a.m. the first and third Thursdays of each month at 19390 N. 99th Ave.
