United Church of Sun City and Church of the Palms Sun City completed their annual Souper Bowl of Caring Soup Drive Feb. 11, which corresponds with the NFL’s Super Bowl. Both churches encouraged church members to donate packages and cans of soup throughout January and early February with all items collected going to the Valley View Food Bank. The church collecting the most soup gets to claim the Silver Ladle Award. Together, the churches raised 7,134 cans and packages of soup. The Silver Ladle Award went to United Church.
