Wizard of Oz production in Chandler in mid-March

A production of The Wizard of Oz will take the stage at the Chandler Center for the Arts on  March 14 and 15.

The musical comes to Chandler, featuring musical theatre performers and musicians from the Valley.

The production will be on the Steena Murray Mainstage at the Center, 250 N. Arizona Ave., Friday,  March 14, 7:30 p.m., and both a 2 p.m. and a 7:30 p.m. show on Saturday, March 15.

Follow Dorothy (played by Jackie Brecker) and her companions — the Scarecrow (Jacody Bullard), Tin Man (Stephen Hohendorf), Cowardly Lion (Robert Watson), and a lovable real-life dog Abrams as Toto — as they embark on a magical journey through the Land of Oz, accompanied by a full orchestra.

The shows will be directed by Seth Reines with musical direction by J.R. McAlexander and choreography by Lauran Stanis. Familiar songs like "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" and "Follow the Yellow Brick Road" help tell the tale of friendship, courage and self-discovery.

Tickets are $15 for youth and $38, $48 and $58 for adults. They're on sale at chandlercenter.org or by calling 480-782-2680.
