Wilbur "Bill" Jacobs, 82Wilbur "Bill" Jacobs of Sun City West passed away Monday, April 7, 2008. Mr. Jacobs was born in Cliffside Park, N.J. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Jacobs. Mr. Jacobs also leaves behind three children - Don, Barbara and Betsy - and six grandchildren. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy in World War II and was a member of the Englewood Police Department for 26 years, retiring as captain of the detective bureau. Mr. Jacobs was commended several times for his detective work, having solved 70 crimes utilizing fingerprints. He was considered by the FBI as a regional expert in the fingerprinting field. During retirement, Mr. Jacobs worked several years for the Deer Valley Unified School District and was an active Post 94 of the American Legion member. He was also an active member of Christ's Community Church for 27 years helping the Lord do his work. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling.A visitation was held April 10, 2008 at Christ Community Church, 4530 W. Thunderbird Blvd., Glendale. Services are entrusted to Sunland Mortuary in Sun City.
