Vehicle crashes into Mesa house, report of ‘shots fired': PD

Posted

Mesa police officers responded to a call of “shots fired” about 5:30 a.m. Saturday near 1600 West 6th Avenue where they found a vehicle that had crashed into a house on fire, authorities said.

“The reporting party said that they heard several shots followed by a loud bang,” police stated in a release.

“When they looked outside, they saw a black vehicle that had crashed into a neighbor’s house. The two occupants of the vehicle took off from the crash in a westbound direction.

The vehicle was on fire when officers arrived. Police said the fire was extinguished quickly.

Officers secured the area, and detectives have taken over the investigation.

The two males who left the crash scene have not been found, police said late Saturday morning.
