A woman has been indicted for allegedly conspiring a fake pregnancy scheme against a former contestant on "The Bachelor."

Laura Michelle Owens was indited on one count of fraudulent schemes and artifices, one county of forgery, four counts of perjury, and one county of tampering with physical evidence after a paternity hearing with Clayton Echard, the former "Bachelor" contestant, according to the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.

MCAO started its investigation of Owens after a Maricopa County Superior Court judget requested it following the paternity hearings with Echard when she allegedly made some inconsistent statements in a lawsuit she had filed seeking child support from Echard.

Owens eventually dropped her paternity claim against Echard claiming she'd had a miscarriage.

Officials say between May 2023 and June 2024, Owens alterned an unltrasound image, fabricated a pregnancy vide and lied multiple times under oath, according to the indictment.
