Uncontested LD 13 races don’t reflect general election urgency

Even with more Republicans registered than Democratic Party voters both statewide and in LD13, one Democratic candidate who advanced in one of this past week’s two unopposed primaries said participation among both groups will increase dramatically in the Nov. 4 general election.

Arizona Secretary of State statistics show about 47% turnout in LD13.

“There weren’t a lot of competitive races involving Demcorats across the state, this primary cycle,” Brandy Reese told the Chandler Independent this week. “Democrats might not have felt the urgency. But there are a lot of important races this fall.”
