While the results posted since Election Day show Kristie O’Brien’s lead in Arizona 13th Legislative District Senate election have shown the gap between her and her opponent shrink and expand slightly, O’Brien has remained in the lead since polls closed.
That consistent lead convinced O’Brien, a Democrat, and some left-leaning organizations to start celebrating her apparent election to the Arizona Senate.
“Thank you to the voters of LD13 for putting your trust in me to serve in the Arizona State Senate,” O’Brien wrote on her campaign social media. “I’m honored to have the opportunity to represent the community where I grew up and am raising my family. I’m ready to get started.”
