The Sun City Ukulele Club performed Nov. 24 and 25 at the Sun City Arts and Craft Festival at the Sundial Recreation Center.
The club presented a genre of music that ranged from popular, rock and roll, Hawaiian, folk and holiday. The audience participated by singing along, playing kazoos and learning Hawaiian dance moves. They also learned to “body percuss,” which included clapping, stomping and shoulder slapping. The audience asked for an encore, which the 50 Ukelele Club members obliged, ending their program with “I Believe in Music.”
The Sun City Ukulele Club offers free lessons on the first and third Thursdays of the month to RCSC members. Call Trudy Bryson, 480-276-3780, or visit scukes.org for more information.
