Everyone seems to be able to agree that Scottsdale’s parks are old and crumbling, especially in the south part of town.
They also seem to agree on things like the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, the crown jewel of Scottsdale’s park system, needs to be maintained with trail repairs and elimination of invasive plant species.
That’s why the city council is asking voters to approve on the November ballot a .15% sales tax to pay for maintenance at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, WestWorld, the Indian Bend Greenbelt and other city parks that would take the place of a .2% sales tax that expires in 2025.
