ELECTIONS 2024

Two win Chandler Council seats; two headed to Nov. 5 runoff

The votes cast by more than 44,000 Chandlerites over the past few weeks weren’t enough to determine exactly who’ll serve on the Chandler City Council starting in January.

While unofficial results did determine incumbent O.D. Harris and challenger Jennifer Hawkins won seats, the fate of incumbent Christine Ellis and challenger Joseph Yang won’t be determined until a runoff that’s part of the Nov. 5 general election.

Only the top three will win seats on the council, with council member Mark Stewart term-limited, meaning there will be at least one new council member in January — or two, if Yang defeats Ellis in the November runoff.
