ELECTIONS 2026

Democrat's lead narrows in Arizona LD 13 Senate race, but still significantly ahead

The results released the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 4, show the race for the single Senate seat in Arizona's 13th Legislative District has tightened somewhat.

Republican Julie Willoughby and Democrat Kristie O'Brien are vying for the seat being vacated by the term-limited J.D. Mesnard. Both candidates live in Chandler.

Early returns, posted about an hour after polls closed Nov. 3, showed O'Brien has about a 14-point lead. That was down to about 10 points by the following morning.
