WORKSHOP: Participate in a house-flipping workshop noon-2 p.m. Feb. 23 at West Maricopa County Association of Realtors, 9001 W. Unions Hills Drive. The Flipping Network will present a complimentary “Lunch & Learn” for beginning investors and realtors on how to get started finding, financing, fixing, and flipping houses.  Featured speaker will be Lloyd Segal, author of “Flipping Houses.” The workshop is complimentary, but reservations are required. GUITAR: Listen to live music by Rich LaRose who will play the guitar while Les Paul plays the piano 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at Rag’s Real Chicken and Waffles, 12242 N. 111th Ave. Call 623-077-2257.

CHORUS: Rehearse for the Sun City Women’s Chorus 8:45-11 a.m. Feb. 23 at the Fairway Recreation Center, 10600 W. Peoria Ave. The Sun City Women’s Chorus has been performing in Sun City for 55 years. It was the first chartered club whose members come from a variety of backgrounds. The chorus gives two concerts a year; one in Spring and one in December. The group has 75 members and is directed by West Valley vocalist Jane Higgs. Call 480-236-1602.

MOVIE: Watch the movie, “Oklahoma!” 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at The Stardust Theater, 14401 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd. One of the world’s most popular musicals and winner of two 1955 Academy Awards. This movie stars Shirley Jones as a young prairie woman with two suitors: good-natured Curly (Gordon MacRae) and the hired hand, Jud (Rod Steiger). There is a $2 donation. Visit www.scwaz.com.

PHOTOGRAPHER: Learn about Louise Serpa, the first woman rodeo photographer, 3-5 p.m. Feb. 23 at the R.H. Johnson Lecture Hall, 19803 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd. Born into New York society, Mrs. Serpa ended up out west with her nose buried in the dirt and her eye glued to a camera, becoming the first woman to venture inside the arena and shoot some photographs of rodeo action. The dust and dirt of the rodeo arena became Louise’s lifeblood for almost 50 years. Instructor Jan Cleere is an author, historian, and lecturer who will be talking about Mrs. Serpa. Tickets are $10. PLAY: Watch the play “The Shape of Things” by Neil Labute 7:30-9 p.m. Feb. 24 at Glendale Community College, 6000 W. Olive Ave. During the play a young student drifts into an ever-changing relationship with an art major while his best friends’ engagement crumbles, so unleashing a drama that peels back the skin of two modern-day relationships. PRODUCTION: See the musical, “Sunday In The Park With George,” 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Theater Works, 8355 W. Peoria Ave. Inspired by the painting A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte by Georges Seurat, “Sunday In The Park With George” merges the past and present. This play has won a Pulitzer Prize and was nominated for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical. Visit www.theaterworks.org.

FOOD TRUCKS: Food Truck Friday is 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at FirstBank, 19309 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd. The bank will be giving away free lunches to customers the last three Fridays in February. One menu item and drink will be provided per bank customer. Each customer is expected to present their FirstBank debit or credit card and a photo ID. First come, first served while supplies last. Participating food trucks include Circle R Farm, PAZ Cantina, Safron Jak, Short Leash Hot Dogs, and The Panini People.

FARMERS MARKET: Attend a farmers market 8 a.m.-noon Feb. 25 at the First United Methodist Church, 7102 N. 58th Drive. In addition to the brush-fed beef, new vendors will participate in the market this season, from local craft artisans, to other local business owners, food vendors and restaurants. Each event will see around 40 vendors total. In addition, the purpose of the market is to provide a marketplace for healthy, nutritious and sustainable foods systems for residents throughout the Valley. SUPER SHOW: Go to the Arizona Super Show noon-8 p.m. Feb. 25 at University of Phoenix Stadium, 1 Cardinals Drive. Arizona’s premier lowrider event features custom and classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, pedal cars, and special interest exhibitors from across the western United States. The show highlights American classics and customs alike, while showcasing their dazzling paints, interiors, and customized modifications. UNITY TOUR: Join the Arizona Unity Tour 7 a.m. Feb. 25 at Westgate Entertainment District, 6751 N. Sunset Blvd. Help raise awareness for law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty. Choose from the 65-mile, 25-mile or 8-mile bike rides beginning and ending at Westgate. All proceeds will benefit the Police Unity Tour and 100 Club of Arizona, organizations that support law enforcement professionals across the nation. Registration is required. CAR SHOW: See a car show to benefit the Vietnam Veterans of Arizona 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Feb. 25 at Westgate Entertainment District, 6751 N. Sunset Blvd. See hundreds of classic cars, a bagpipe ceremony, live music by Rick Lenzi and Roustabout, the color guard and more. MUSICAL: Watch the musical “Menopause” noon Feb. 26 at Arizona Broadway Theatre, 7701 W. Paradise Lane. Set in a department store, four women with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra on sale come to find they have more to share than ever imagined. The cast makes fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges. A sisterhood is created between these diverse women as they realize that menopause is no longer The Silent Passage, but a stage in every woman’s life that is perfectly normal. Call 623-776-8400.

TRUMPET: Listen to Grammy Award trumpet player, Dr. Jesse McGuire, perform 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at The Life in Christ Lutheran Church, 14802 N. 75th Ave. Mr. McGuire is from Phoenix and is famous for his execution of the Star-Spangled Banner. MUSIC: Listen to ProMusica play during the Moonlight Journey event 7:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at American Lutheran Church, 17200 N. Del Webb Blvd. The concert will take listeners through a kaleidoscope of adventures in a city from dusk to dawn with music depicting a stunning sunset, a dazzling party, falling asleep, things that go bump in the night, dreaming and awakening. This experience will be a multimedia adventure featuring breathtaking time-lapse photography accompanied by the music of Beethoven, Ola Gjello, Dvorak, Eric Whitacre, and more. BAND: Hear the Sun City Concert Band perform at the Sousa Concert 2-7 p.m. Feb. 26 at Sundial Recreation Center Auditorium, 14801 N. 103rd Ave. The concert will include featured presentations by the flute, French horn, and percussion sections. Other selections will include several Sousa marches; Waverly Way Concert March, composed by Dale Gleason, a member of the band’s trombone section; Beethoven’s Egmont Overture; and Habanera from Bizet’s Carmen.
