The Grand clay club donates plenty

Plates provide nearly $3,000 for Valley View Food Bank

Posted

So far in 2023 The Grand Clay Arts Club have donated almost $3,000 via check to the Valley View Food Bank.

This charitable program allows the Sun City-based food bank to buy whatever food is needed.
Grand Clay Arts Club calls this program Plates of Plenty (POP for short).

Money is raised in a unique way. The club donates all materials (clay, glazes, kiln firing). However, the club members donate their time to create plates, platters and other similar works of art.

This is done throughout the year. During the summer productivity increases by having pizza parties at the clay studio which draw members together in significant groups to produce many plates — all for Plates of Plenty.

During sales events at The Grand (Market Days, Art Fusion and other events), special sales tables are set up and the plates are sold to the general public.

Every penny made from POP Sales is collected and donated to the Valley View Community Food Bank.

Valley View’s locations are as follows:
• Main site — 10771 W. Peoria Ave., Sun City.
