Temperatures heating up in Valley

It will get increasing warmer in the Phoenix metropolitan area with the mercury expected to hit 108 degrees on Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures this weekend and early next week should end up being the warmest so far this season with highs reaching between 105-109 degrees, or 5-8 degrees above normal, the weather service reported. However, a weak trough may set up just off the West Coast during the latter part of next week which may bring some slight cooling, or at least keep temperatures from rising any further.
“Typically we are going into the warm part of the year where triple digits will be the norm,” said meteorologist Andrew Deemer with the weather service in Phoenix. “The heat is here to stay.”
