Tempe History Museum to open Día de los Muertos ofrenda exhibit

An opening celebration to unveil the Día de los Muertos ofrenda exhibit at the Tempe History Museum will take place at 5 p.m. Oct. 25.

The event will feature music, dancing and remarks from officials, including the consulate general of Mexico in Phoenix.

The ofrenda is inspired by the state of Michoácan and will be presented by Mexican artist Monica Gisel Crespo.

The exhibit is being displayed as part of the celebration of El Día de los Muertos, and community members are invited to bring photos for the altar, according to a release. 

The museum is at 809 E. Southern Ave.

Visit the ofrenda Oct. 26-Nov. 2 during during museum hours, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
