Surprise Police with the joint coordination of the U.S. Marshal’s Service arrested a suspect wanted on numerous felony charges in the Phoenix area on Tuesday, March 22.

Police arrested Tefere Rezene, 27, who has been booked into Maricopa County Jail for processing.

His charges include six counts of taking the identity of another person, fraudulent schemes and theft.

Surprise police said the arrest came after more than seven months of investigation into allegations Rezene stole funds and took the identities of individuals where he used to work.

“Fraud, embezzlement, and identity theft cases can be extremely complex investigations,” said Surprise Police Chief Benny Piña in a news release. “However, our team of investigative professionals will utilize every tool at their disposal to bring justice to those who have found themselves a victim of crime. [The] arrest is a testament to that commitment."
