Surprise landscaping workshop to focus on harvesting rain

Surprise residents can learn to assess their yards based on integrated design principles and find ways you can shape their landscape to passively harvest rainwater on site at the next city water workshop.

“Designing a Water Harvesting Landscape — Virtual Landscape and Water Efficiency Workshop” is scheduled for online at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 3.

The workshop will give ideas on how to size and plan where to place water harvesting basins to help slow the flow of the water, spread it across the areas where it’s needed and sink it into the ground.
