The city of Surprise is accepting applications for a new Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission-led grant program that intends to assist community organizations that are pursuing arts and cultural events or activities that benefit city of Surprise residents.
The commission set aside up to $10,000 for FY2021-2022 for the Arts and Culture Grant Program in an effort to support qualified local programs and events and to further the commission’s mission to spur cultural growth in Surprise.
To be considered, applicants must be a 501(c)3 organization or partner with a 501(c)3 verified agency. The maximum award per applicant is $10,000.
According to program guidelines, funds are distributed by reimbursement through an invoice process. The disbursement of funds is subject to final approval by the Surprise City Council.

Applications will be accepted until Friday, April 23, and should be addressed to Human Service and Community Vitality, Attention: Karina Caraveo, City of Surprise, 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza, Surprise, AZ 85374.
A pre-application meeting that will include information about the program and the application process will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31 via Webex.
