The Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee is awarding full-tuition scholarships to 10 local high school graduates for attendance at in-state universities.
The Host Committee has partnered with Education Forward Arizona, a nonprofit education advocacy organization, for the selection process and to provide ongoing mentoring, tutoring and other essential resources for the students throughout their academic journey.
The student scholars selected through the application process are Asia Alvarez-Vanbogaert, Tucson’s Sunnyside High School (University of Arizona); Sedona Bermudez, Yuma’s Cibola High School (University of Arizona); Daisha Henry, Phoenix’s Trevor Browne High School (Northern Arizona University); Dayanara Hindley-Arvayo, Tucson’s Sunnyside High School (University of Arizona); Sofia Ibarra, Nogales High School (University of Arizona); Casandra Martinez-Chavarria, Tucson’s Sunnyside High School (University of Arizona); Ahmed Nasr, Phoenix Gateway Early College High School (Arizona State University); Czarina Robles, Tucson’s Sunnyside High School (University of Arizona); Nathaniel Skinner, Yuma’s Cibola High School (Arizona State University); and Debby Suarez, Phoenix Metro Tech High School (Arizona State University).
“The positive impact of Super Bowl LVII on Arizona continues on through the scholarships awarded to these 10 incredibly impressive and very deserving students”, Jay Parry, Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee president and chief executive officer, shared in a news release. “Education is a top priority for everyone involved in bringing Super Bowl to Arizona – the Host Committee, our partners and supporters – and these scholarships demonstrate the commitment to transformative and long-lasting impact for students and the community.”
