Students of the month honored at Apache Junction school district

The students of the month for January for Apache Junction Unified School District were awarded at the Governing Board’s Feb. 8 meeting.
The awards are sponsored by Apache Junction Elks Lodge No. 2349.
The students of the month are:
Vanessa Soto, Desert Vista Elementary School.
Eli Olivas, Desert Vista Elementary School.
Yamille Alamillo Flores, Four Peak Elementary School.
Daniel Thieleman, Four Peaks Elementary School.
Nick Acosta, Cactus Canyon Junior High School.
Isabella Torres, Cactus Canyon Junior High School.
Rylee Bailey, Apache Junction High School.
Judah Nieman, Apache Junction High School.
Samuel Fox, Peralta Trail Elementary School.
Taylor Layton, Peralta Trail Elementary School.
AJUSD has three elementary schools, a junior high school and a high school. The district encompasses 217 square miles from Meridian Road on the west to the town of Queen Valley on the east and from the Goldfield Mountains to the north, south into the San Tan Corridor. Communities served include Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, Peralta Trail, Queen Valley and unincorporated Pinal County land in-between.
