Sock donation drive at Apache Junction library
Posted
Through Jan. 8, the Apache Junction Public Library, 1177 N. Idaho Road, will collect new, white crew socks for the Genesis Project — a faith-based community effort dedicated to feeding, clothing and hydrating the hungry and the homeless of northern Pinal County.
Socks are one of the most requested items among the homeless population who may walk for miles daily leading to socks that are worn, dirty and damp. Not only is this uncomfortable, it’s unhealthy and many don’t have the luxury of washing or changing their clothes, according to a release.
